We have visited Roundhay Park many times over the years but every visit brings something new!
It’s one of the most visited Parks in Leeds and here’s why!
Roundhay Park has always been the jewel of Leeds. One of the biggest City Parks in Europe, full of woodlands to explore, walks, history and nature.
Gone are the days of watching bands play in the arena. Back then we had the best acts from Michael Jackson, Madonna, Genesis, even Robbie Williams! All of whom played concerts in the outdoor arena, where we spent our Bonfire Nights perched on Hill 60!
I remember these bands playing even though I wasn’t old enough to go in to see them the atmosphere was electric and will always be part of my childhood memories. Along with the wooden Helter Skelter! Yeah I am an 80’s child!
That’s probably the reason we take the kids so often, nostalgia!
You think you have seen everything at Roundhay Park over the decades but then you see a new path has been cut back ready to explore!
The castle folly has been renovated you can see all the work that George Nettleton designed. Built to ornament the grounds of the 372 acre park all those years ago.
Every entrance to Roundhay Park leads you to another trail.
This summer you have a Sculpture trail along with the Fairy Forrest it’s a great day out that doesn’t cost you more than your transportation!
And you never know you might even see some new additions to Roundhay Park too!
