Items needed to make a Dream Jar inspired by the book BFG

Step 1:

Mix paint or food colouring with water in separate cups and put to the side. We try to only use 3/4 colours at a time.

Step 2:

Fluff out your cotton wool and put to the side.

Step 3:

Add cotton wool to the jar approximately 1/4 of the way up and soak with your preferred colour. We are going to repeat till we fill the jar. Each layer alternating the colour. You can add Glitter or Confetti even tin foil, anything you have to hand to make each one unique.

Step 4:

Once full, pop the lid back on and you have your very own BFG inspired Dream Jar.

My children love often add to much water, but it doesn’t matter as they enjoy watching the colours mix together often changing the shade which adds to this hands on learning craft. Where half the fun is experimenting!

It’s a great way to communicate. Why did you choose that colour? What does it represent? What do you dream about?

This is what we created. Tell us what you think our dreams were about and share your with us too!
