Adventure playgrounds and magical forests plus a wonderful indoor play area!

We love trying new places. My Twins are 6 and unfortunately like many at that age missed out on lots of days out due to the pandemic we are steadily making our way through lots of places we haven’t visited in a while and today we have visited Stockeld Park.

We started our day in the newish built Play Hive we had 1hr 30mins inside and it was wonderful! An indoor adventure playground with lots of slides, interactive games and themed areas to explore.

It would of been hard to keep the twins together when they were younger but there’s lots of staff around and children can only leave the secured area with an adult. It felt really safe and its extreamly clean and spacious.

The Hive is buzzing! The weather outside was glorious but I imagine this to be extremally busy when it rains so take full advantage of the unlimited play tickets when its wet!

Everyone needs to wear socks and if you forget you can purchase some funky slippers to wear at £2.95 a pair!

I have 4 children aged between 6-13 that’s a hard range to keep happy but with all the play grounds dotted around the magical forest along with the go karts and inflatables were enough to keep them all including my eldest entertained throughout the day.

The only issue I had at Stockeld Park was the Buccaneer Boats. I sent the eldest two off with £6 (the price of a boat) to queue in line whilst we were packing up in the sand pit play area. They came running back asking for more money as they were unable to go on together but could go separate.

As you queue there’s a sign which states over 18’s only in accompanying boats. No mention of this on the website. So took us unaware and I just didn’t budget to spend anymore money plus I have said before I am a Yorkshire Lass who out of principle walked away. I have since seen online prices to be £6 a boat and £4 for another go but no signs to mention this.

I would say the weather is a big factor on the type of day you will have at Stockeld Park. It would of been nice to see more sheltered picnic areas but the café inside is roomy and very reasonably priced the pizzas are lovely and only £10 each! As it was warm we treat them to slush and ice cream costing £2.80 each. With is perfectly located behind the inflatables ready to explore the magical forest.

We arrived at Stockeld Park for 10am and left at 6pm so its a full on day. We got to play on everything but didn’t manage to explore the maze.

It was a wonderful day and we will be returning. Just have to decide when!
